All I Needed

All I Needed

I’ve drowned in my sorrows
and made scars on my skin.
I’ve hidden in the shadows,
praying for a way for it to end.
I can’t get in enough air,
I am suffocating for no reason
and I’m begging you to care.
But our fights are never even,
and all you want to do
is dodge your only responsibility.
Then as if on your cue,
I must turn on my humility.
You give me what you want to
when all I needed was you.
